A popular doctrine taught today is the Oneness doctrine of the Godhead. It proposes: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three manifestations of one person in the Godhead, namely Jesus. Oneness proponents reject the doctrine of the trinity and have adopted the use of the phrase “three manifestations of God” rather than three persons. However the Oneness doctrine is inadequate to explain the Godhead for the following reasons.

Just because a person has, can, or will prophesy does not mean he or she is a prophet or has the gift of prophecy.
House Church - leadership and government is a 4 part video presented by CharlesSmoot.org and Simple Church Ministries of Lancaster. This video series explores the role of local and central church leadership and government as it is found in the book of Acts. In addition, it introduces the persuasive servant leadership role of the five-fold ministry gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher within the context of the New Testament. The “four generations of leadership model” is also explained. This series is presented in a house church "open meeting" setting with audience participation.

In spite of the challenges and struggles we may experience in our Christian journey, we must realize that human behavior is always inconsistent and imperfect (1 Jn. 5:10-13). Therefore, Satan will use legalism to undermine and destroy our confidence in God.

When we fail, Satan will always seek to deceive us through the deception of works and self-righteousness, in order to cause us to doubt who we are in Christ, and what He has accomplished on your behalf.

When we succeed, Satan will always try to deceive us through pride, so that we may become like him, puffed up and exalted. Then we are tempted to take our eyes off of Jesus and the finished work of the cross so that we may take stock of our own works or that of others.

When the Holy Spirit is directing the open meeting, the content and context of the meeting will flow naturally. Therefore, during the meeting it is very important to have the mind of the Spirit and seek to maintain the unity of the Spirit (Rom. 8:27; Eph. 4:3). To do this everyone must be sensitive to what is occurring during the meeting.

Because of the casual atmosphere, a House church can easily deteriorate into just another social gathering focused on worldly and carnal things.

Stay Christ centered and you will add to creating a climate where Christ can manifest His person and ministry. Remember, it is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify Jesus in our midst, and so should we.

Jesus Christ, His finished work of atonement, and the New Covenant of Grace is the true object that cast the shadow (backward) into the Old Testament. If we can understand this, our understanding of Grace theology is much clearer. The Law with its types and shadows does not interpret Grace, but rather, Grace interprets the Law. Grace, therefore is the true object known only by revelation, and the Law is merely the shadow of Grace not yet revealed or made known.

To do this we must understand that our historic roots are in our primitive apostolic heritage as revealed in the New Testament, particularly in the book of Acts.
